1992-93 NHL All Star #7 Chris Chelios
Campbell Conference First All Star Team - Assistant Captain
Chris Chelios was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens, 40th overall in the second round of the 1981 NHL Entry draft. His career and accomplishments are too numerous to cover in this description but he holds many NHL records including most games by an NHL defenseman. This jersey was worn by Chris in the 44th NHL All Star game between the Wales Conference and Campbell Conference. This was the last All Star game ever played in the Montreal Forum. He was a member of Team USA ten separate times, the most by any American born hockey player. His Team USA won the 1996 World Cup and a silver medal in the 2002 Olympics. He participated in eleven NHL All Star games. Chris Chelios was inducted into the HHOF in 2013. This jersey is a classic design and shows some nice evidence of game wear. There is a stick mark on the front crest and one on the upper left shoulder and some thread wear on the All Star Patch that adorns the right shoulder. The 100 year Stanley Cup patch is sewn to the right chest. All original with the namebar and fight strap in tact. A great All Star jersey worn by one of the NHL greats.
This jersey was sourced from a collector in Montreal who obtained the jersey from the trainer involved in the All Star Game. I have seen one other Chelios All Star jersey from this year that was sold as a part of his personal collection. That one did not appear to have the wear that this one has. It was common for the players to wear more than one jersey during the All Star game in this era.
